OUR STORY

Our Story

Groundr was founded on the principle that businesses should exist in the modern era to bring about meaningful, positive, and lasting change for its stakeholders. Groundr is a part of the Equality Coffee Collective. A group of likeminded social entrepreneurs who have reimagined what role businesses should play in society. 

In fact Groundr is not a business, we are a 'giveness'. Simply put, we put people first, profit second. This is not a corporate social responsibility (CSR) smoke and mirrors tactic to get more sales. We put our coffee where our mouth is. We're structured as a low-profit limited liability company or an L3C, which is a hybrid between a non-profit and a for profit, LLC. It is similar to a B Corp in this way.

On a mission to improve the lives of the LGBTQ+ community since February 13, 2023, Groundr began with the simple idea of putting an extra pep in your step with every cup of coffee. Drink coffee. Do good.

Silence is Complicity

During this period of tremendous moral dilemma, remaining silent implies being a part of the problem. Given that we possess the power to react, whether it is through communication, social media, mobilization, taking action in-person, or in the polling booth, silence is not an option. It is important to use our voice even if we feel hesitant or intimidated.

We possess the ability to come together and confront the negative influences of intolerance and bigotry, honor the value of every individual, and progress towards a society that embodies principles of equity and inclusivity. To further comprehend our initiatives and movements aimed at combatting hate and prejudice, take the time to explore our campaigns and projects.

But first, coffee. With each purchase or subscription of Groundr Coffee or related products, 50% of net profit will be given to organizations that fight every day for inclusion and equality. Organizations that celebrate diversity and humanity. Please join us in fighting against hate, bias, and intolerance.
